(Mayapple) A woodland plant producing large umbrella-like leaves attaining a width of up to 12". Solitary, nodding, waxy-white flowers appear in spring, followed by edible(when fully ripe-poisonous until then) fleshy, green fruits which turn golden when mature. Goes dormant in summer and dies back completely. 12-18". Z3-8.
