Shipped Fresh & Packed With Care

Perennials are shipped bare root, freshly dug from our fields or removed from containers. Because our plants are grown outdoors in USDA Zone 5, their foliage and dormancy reflect the conditions at our Maine nursery.

We take great pride in how every order is prepared for its journey. Roots are carefully wrapped in sphagnum peat moss to help maintain moisture during shipping, creating an ideal environment for your plants to arrive fresh, healthy, and ready for planting. Before planting, be sure to remove the sphagnum peat moss from around the roots.

Shipping Season
- We ship perennials April through November, weather permitting. Spring orders may arrive dormant with little or no visible top growth. This is completely normal—the established root system is ready to begin growing as conditions warm in your garden.

During periods of extreme summer heat, we may temporarily pause shipping to help protect plants in transit. Any shipping updates will be posted on our website and social media pages.

Peony Shipping - Due to their natural growth cycle, peonies are shipped only in the fall, beginning in September, weather permitting. Orders may be placed throughout the season and will be held for fall shipping.

Trees & Shrubs are available for in-store pickup only and are not available for shipping.
