Allium stellatum – Prairie Onion
A striking native of the eastern Great Plains, Allium stellatum produces deep pink, star-shaped umbels that rise gracefully above its gray-green foliage. Ideal for rock gardens, xeriscapes, or naturalized plantings, this drought-tolerant prairie onion thrives in full sun and dry, well-drained soil. Plants may self-seed or multiply by bulb offsets, creating a slowly spreading colony. Loved by bees and other pollinators, it remains deer resistant and low-maintenance.
