A dazzling constellation of white, backward-swept blooms hovers above a tidy rosette of softly crinkled, toothed leaves. Each flower points outward like a tiny dart, creating a starburst effect in May and June. Native to moist mountain meadows and streambanks, this perennial loves partial sun and rich soil that stays evenly moist in spring. Deer and rabbits politely pass it by, while pollinators swoop in for a close encounter. After its floral fireworks, it retreats into summer dormancy, saving its energy for next year’s display.
