A striking Siberian iris introduced by McEwen in 1979, ‘Shirley Pope’ is admired for its rich, velvety blooms and dependable garden performance. The 4½-inch flowers open in a vibrant dark reddish-purple, with an exceptionally soft, velvety texture that gives the blooms added depth and presence.

Bright white signals at the base of the falls create beautiful contrast against the deep coloring, making each bloom stand out from mid to mid-late season. Its graceful upright habit and richly colored flowers make it an excellent choice for borders, cottage gardens, and mixed perennial plantings.
