Pulsatilla vulgaris ‘Rubra’

‘Rubra’ produces large, bell-shaped flowers in deep red to burgundy tones with contrasting bright yellow centers. The blooms appear in April on soft, downy stems, bringing rich color to rock gardens, borders, and other early-spring plantings.
After flowering, decorative fluffy seed heads develop and extend the season of interest. This compact perennial grows best in fertile, humusy, gritty soil with excellent drainage. Avoid wet conditions, especially during winter.
