Aconitum carmichaelii ‘Arendsii’
(Monkshood)
A strong late-season perennial that brings rich cobalt-blue color to the garden in September and October. Tall flower spikes rise above glossy, deep green foliage, adding height and structure just as many summer perennials are beginning to fade.
Its upright habit makes it a good choice for the middle or back of borders, where it pairs well with fall-blooming asters, Anemones, Sedums, and ornamental grasses. The sturdy stems generally remain upright without staking, helping it keep a neat appearance through the end of the season.
