Tall spires of intense deep bluish-purple flowers rise dramatically above the garden in late summer. Blooming in August, this classic monkshood brings welcome color and vertical structure to the back of the border just as many perennials begin to fade. The elegant hooded blooms are held on sturdy stems that may benefit from staking in windy sites.
A striking and long-lived perennial, perfect for adding height and late-season interest to cottage gardens, mixed borders, and woodland edges.
