‘Spark’s Variety’ produces tall spires of deep bluish-purple, hooded flowers on sturdy upright stems. Blooming in August, it brings strong vertical structure and late-season color to the garden as many other perennials begin to fade.

Its tall habit makes it especially useful toward the back of mixed borders, cottage gardens, and woodland edges. It performs well in part shade or in sun where the soil remains consistently cool and moist. Staking may be helpful in exposed or windy locations.
