Actaea rubra (Baneberry)

Actaea rubra
The white flowers appear a week earlier and are larger but not as fringed as other baneberry plants. The 1/4" red berries are borne on slender green pedicles. Native to Maine and inhabits rich, moist forests throughout New England.  Attracts bees and other pollinators. Caution: the berries are ornamental but poisonous. Part shade to shade. 24-36", Z4-8.
