Canadian Wild Ginger is a native woodland perennial with broad, soft green leaves that spread to form a dense groundcover through spring and summer. Small purplish-brown flowers appear beneath the foliage in April and May, often hidden from view unless you look closely.
More heat tolerant than European Ginger, this adaptable native is well suited to woodland gardens, shaded borders, and naturalized plantings.
