Asclepias tuberosa 'Hello Yellow' (Butterfly Weed)

Asclepias tuberosa ‘Hello Yellow’
(Butterfly Weed)

A yellow-flowering selection of our native Butterfly Weed, ‘Hello Yellow’ produces clusters of golden-yellow blooms from early through late summer. Its upright habit and bright flowers work well in sunny perennial borders, native plantings, meadow gardens, and pollinator gardens.

The nectar-rich flowers attract Monarch butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators, while the foliage also serves as a host for Monarch caterpillars. Deadheading after the first flush can encourage additional flowers later in the season. Once established, it is drought tolerant and prefers sunny sites with well-drained soil.
