Astilbe arendsii ‘Amethyst’
‘Amethyst’ brings soft lilac-rose color to shaded gardens with airy flower plumes that rise above finely textured green foliage in midsummer. Blooming from July into August, it adds height and movement to perennial borders and woodland plantings.
Its medium height makes it easy to use through the middle of a shaded border, where it pairs well with Hostas, Ferns, Heuchera, and other moisture-loving perennials. It performs best in organically rich soil that stays evenly moist.
