Astilbe arendsii ‘Cappuccino’
‘Cappuccino’ adds strong foliage contrast to shaded gardens with very dark bronze, fern-like leaves that emerge in spring and gradually become greener after flowering. In early to midsummer, broad white flower plumes rise on dark red stems, creating a crisp contrast against the foliage.
Its compact, clump-forming habit makes it easy to use through the front or middle of shaded borders, woodland gardens, and containers. It pairs especially well with Hostas, Ferns, Brunnera, and other moisture-loving perennials.
