Astilbe chinensis ‘Black Pearls’
‘Black Pearls’ brings rich midsummer color to shaded gardens with dense lavender-purple flower plumes held on strong stems above dark green, fern-like foliage. The upright blooms add height and texture without overwhelming nearby plants.
Its medium size makes it easy to use through the front or middle of shaded borders, woodland gardens, and containers. It pairs especially well with Hostas, Ferns, Brunnera, and other moisture-loving perennials, while the flowers also attract pollinators.
