Astilbe chinensis ‘Hot Pearls’
‘Hot Pearls’ adds rich red color to shaded gardens with upright flower plumes held above finely divided, medium-green foliage. The blooms appear in summer and bring strong vertical interest to woodland gardens, shaded borders, and mixed perennial plantings.
Its compact size makes it especially useful near the front or middle of a border, where it pairs well with Hostas, Ferns, Heuchera, and other shade-loving perennials. Like most Astilbes, it performs best in organically rich soil that stays evenly moist.
