Astilbe ‘Music™ Heavy Metal®’
(False Spirea)
‘Music™ Heavy Metal®’ brings strong late-season color to shaded gardens with large, fluffy cherry-red flower plumes held upright above dark green, finely cut foliage. The flowers are fuller than many Astilbes, creating a bold summer display.
Its medium height makes it a good choice for the middle of shaded borders, woodland gardens, and mixed perennial plantings. It pairs especially well with Hostas and Ligularia, and also works nicely in containers. This variety offers improved sun and heat tolerance compared with traditional Arendsii hybrids, provided the soil stays consistently moist.
