A compact, low-growing dwarf species, Astilbe simplicifolia blooms in mid-season with narrow, arching panicles of airy, star-like pink flowers. Its simple, ovate leaves (often grouped in threes) form a neat mound, perfect for the front of borders, rock gardens, or containers.
