Astilbe x 'Delft Lace'

Astilbe x ‘Delft Lace’

‘Delft Lace’ adds both flower color and striking foliage to shaded gardens. Deep blue-green, finely cut leaves have a waxy finish with red highlights, creating an attractive backdrop for red buds that open to soft apricot-pink flower plumes in early summer.

Its foliage gives this variety plenty of interest even before and after bloom. Use it through the middle of shaded borders, woodland gardens, or containers, where it pairs especially well with Hostas, Ferns, Heuchera, and other shade-loving perennials. The flowers are also attractive to bees and other pollinators.
