Baptisia 'Golden Anniversary'
A color breakthrough as the first commercially available Baptisia combining both indigo blue flowers and golden yellow foliage. A ball shaped habit of ovate leaves is held on sturdy stems. In early summer long spikes of indigo blue flowers begin to appear, starting just above the foliage. Both the foliage and the flowers can be used in cut flower arrangements. Pair with darker greens in your garden to really make it pop. Companion plans in include Salvia 'Big Sky' and Amsonia x 'String Theory'.
Use this long-lived perennial as a bright focal point in the landscape. This perennial native may take a couple of seasons to become established, but is very long-lived once mature. Avoid disturbing established clumps. Pollinator friendly, deer resistant. Baptisia are native to North America. Drought and salt tolerant. Full sun - part shade. 30-36", Zones 4-9.
