Catalpa speciosa – Northern Catalpa
Northern Catalpa is a fast-growing shade tree with large, heart-shaped leaves and a distinctive upright, oval form. In June, clusters of white, tube-shaped flowers appear in large panicles, attracting pollinators and adding early summer interest.
As the tree matures, its ascending branches develop a more twisted, character-filled structure. Long, slender seed pods follow the flowers and often remain on the tree well into the season. Adaptable to a wide range of growing conditions, Northern Catalpa is a good choice for large landscapes where a durable shade tree is needed.
