Cornus mas 'Golden Glory' - (Cornelian Cherry, Dogwood)

Large, golden yellow flowers in early spring followed by showy red fruit. Flowers appear before foliage emerges in spring. Rich, well drained soil. 'Golden Glory' is somewhat more erect in appearance and more vigorous than the species. Can be trained as a small tree by removal of suckers and lower branches. Promptly remove root suckers to control spread.  It typically flowers more abundantly than other species.

Best as a hedge, screen or foundation plant or as a specimen or grouping in the shrub border. May be naturalized in open woodland or naturalized areas. Deer resistant. Attracts birds. 15-20' Full sun to part shade. Zones 4-9
