A striking ornamental shrub or small tree known for its dramatically twisted branches and rich burgundy spring foliage. New leaves emerge deep burgundy before gradually softening to green through the summer. In winter, long burgundy catkins hang from the contorted stems, adding unique seasonal interest even when the plant is dormant.
‘Red Dragon’ combines the fascinating form of contorted hazelnuts with improved resistance to Eastern Filbert Blight, making it a durable and eye-catching addition to landscapes and gardens.
