Red Dragon European Filbert
Red Dragon European Filbert is an ornamental shrub or small tree valued for its twisting, contorted branches and changing foliage color. New leaves emerge deep burgundy in spring before gradually shifting toward green as summer progresses.
The sculptural branching remains especially noticeable in winter, when long burgundy catkins hang from the bare stems and provide seasonal interest. ‘Red Dragon’ also offers improved resistance to Eastern Filbert Blight compared with many other European filberts.
