Dicentra spectabilis ‘Valentine’
(Bleeding Heart)
‘Valentine’ brings rich spring color to shaded gardens with deep red, heart-shaped flowers suspended from striking burgundy stems. Bronzy gray-green foliage forms an attractive backdrop, while new growth emerges in plum tones for added early-season interest.
Its upright, arching habit works well through the middle of shaded borders, woodland gardens, and mixed perennial plantings. Pair it with Hostas, Ferns, Brunnera, and other shade-loving perennials for a layered spring display.
