Digitalis mertonensis
(Foxglove)
Digitalis mertonensis produces upright spikes of dark strawberry-pink flowers above broad green foliage from late spring into summer. The tall flower stems add vertical color and structure to perennial borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator plantings.
This perennial foxglove grows well in full sun to part shade. Its tubular flowers attract hummingbirds, while the foliage is generally resistant to deer. Letting a few late pods drop seeds allows the short-lived plants to naturally self-sow and sustain their presence in the garden
