Epimedium alpinum 'Enchantress'

From England's legendary plantswoman Elizabeth Strangman comes this delightful hybrid (E. dolichostemon x E. leptorrhizum). The dwarf, 6" tall clumps spread nicely (4-6" per year) in a moist but well-drained site. Leaves emerge marbled and splashed dark bronze-red in spring and mature to bright green with red veins. The foliage is topped in early spring by medium-sized, light lavender flowers resembling a mobile of little purple spiders. Makes an excellent ground cover. Deer resistant.  Part to full shade. 6" Zones 5-10
