Filipendula rubra 'Venusta' (Queen of The Prairie)

A stunning native perennial from the Eastern US, producing vivid rose plumes in July and August that resemble cotton candy in their fullness and color. Best planted at the back of the border, it pairs beautifully with astilbes and lilies. The flower panicles are long-lasting and should be left in place after bloom, while lush foliage can remain attractive all season with adequate moisture. Deer resistant and ideal for full to part sun.
