Filipendula rubra ‘Venusta’
(Queen of the Prairie)
‘Venusta’ is a tall native perennial with airy rose-pink flower plumes held above large, deeply cut green foliage. The flowers appear in midsummer and add height, texture, and soft color to the back of perennial borders, rain gardens, and naturalistic plantings.
Its sturdy foliage remains attractive through the season when grown in consistently moist soil. The dried flower panicles can be left standing for additional late-season interest. It pairs well with astilbes, lilies, and other moisture-loving perennials.
