‘Flying Machine’ is a vigorous forsythia with exceptionally large golden-orange flowers that cover the branches in early spring. As the blooms age, they fall intact and collect beneath the shrub, creating a second layer of color on the ground.

Its larger size makes it well suited for flowering hedges, screening, and mixed landscape plantings. It tolerates part sun better than many spring-flowering shrubs and is easy to grow once established.

This variety blooms on old wood, so any pruning should be done shortly after flowering. Good deer resistance adds to its usefulness in larger landscape settings.
