Hemerocallis ‘Star of the North’ (Daylily)
Hemerocallis ‘Star of the North’ is a striking, uniquely shaped daylily with triangular pale yellow petals, a large wine-purple eye, and a razor-thin wine-purple edge. An improved version of ‘El Desperado,’ it offers enhanced flower form, higher bud count, better branching, and rebloom, with a slightly earlier bloom season.
A midseason bloomer, this tetraploid daylily (44 chromosomes) produces larger, stronger plants than diploids and reaches 34–36" tall. It thrives in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil, making it ideal for borders, mixed perennial gardens, and standout focal points.
