Paeonia ‘Cytherea’
(Herbaceous Hybrid Peony)
‘Cytherea’ is a Saunders hybrid introduced in 1953, known for its vivid coral-rose, semi-double flowers. The 6-inch, bowl-shaped blooms gradually soften in color as they age, creating a range of warm tones on the plant at once.
Strong upright stems support the flowers well, making this variety useful in perennial borders and cutting gardens. ‘Cytherea’ received the American Peony Society Gold Medal in 1980.
