Add layered color and distinctive foliage to the shade garden with ‘Chance Encounter’. Heart-shaped, powdery blue leaves are edged in wide apple-green margins that gradually mature to gold. Where the center and margin meet, a subtle “watermark” halo can develop, giving each leaf extra dimension.

This low, broad Hosta spreads more than 3 feet wide, making it an excellent specimen for the front of shaded borders, woodland gardens, or mixed Hosta plantings. White flowers rise above the foliage in early summer.
