Iris ensata ‘Variegata’ – Japanese Iris
‘Variegata’ shines even before the first bloom opens. Its mint-green and creamy white, vertically striped foliage stands tall and crisp, bringing texture and light to moist garden spaces. Early to midsummer, large violet-purple blooms unfurl above the leaves, highlighted by petite yellow signals that guide visiting pollinators right to the center. A wonderful choice for pond edges, stream banks, or containers set into water features, where its roots can stay consistently moist while the foliage puts on a show from spring through fall.
