Iris ensata ‘Variegata’
(Japanese Iris)
‘Variegata’ adds color and structure to moist garden spaces even before it begins to bloom. Upright, sword-like leaves are striped in mint green and creamy white, creating a bright vertical accent from spring through fall. In early to midsummer, violet-purple flowers rise above the foliage, each marked with a small yellow signal.
Its variegated foliage makes it especially useful along pond edges, stream banks, rain gardens, and moist perennial borders. It also works well in containers where consistent moisture can be maintained.
