Iris germanica ‘Superstition’
Iris ‘Superstition’ brings dramatic depth to the late-spring garden with velvety, near-black blooms touched with deep purple undertones. Both the standards and falls carry rich midnight coloring, while the dark purple beard adds to its moody, elegant look.
Its sweet fragrance makes the blooms even more enjoyable up close, and the bold flower color provides striking contrast against lighter irises, silver foliage, or soft pastel perennials.
Plant in full sun with well-drained, average to fertile soil. Bearded iris perform best when rhizomes are planted shallowly and given good air circulation.
