Iris sibirica ‘Bee’

A compact McEwen introduction from 1976, ‘Bee’ features dark violet-blue flowers with a white edge to the blaze for bright contrast. Light violet-blue styles add a softer note, giving the blooms a layered look.

This tetraploid variety blooms in midseason and stays at a useful medium height, making it a good choice for perennial borders, iris collections, and moist garden areas. Its upright, grass-like foliage continues to add texture after the flowers have finished.
