A compact McEwen introduction from 1972, ‘Blue Burgee’ features 4½-inch ruffled, flaring flowers in velvety violet-blue. The blooms have a full, refined look on shorter stalks, making this variety especially useful near the front or middle of borders.

This tetraploid variety blooms from early midseason into late season, extending the Siberian Iris display with rich blue color. Each stem produces 2 branches with 5–6 buds for a strong bloom show despite its lower height.
