A meaningful McEwen introduction, ‘Ira Wood’ was introduced in 1982 with permission from Betty Wood to honor Ira Wood. This tetraploid variety features semi-flaring flowers in a rich, close-to-true dark blue, bringing strong color and classic Siberian Iris form to the garden.

Blooming from early midseason into late midseason, ‘Ira Wood’ is noted for its vigorous growth and dependable display. Each stem produces 2 branches with 5–6 buds, creating a good show above upright, grass-like foliage.
