A rich McEwen introduction from 1994, ‘Roger Luce’ features velvety, ruffled blooms in deep violet-blue tones. The standards are dark violet-blue, while the falls are even darker, giving the flowers a bold, saturated look. Small white signals add a crisp touch of contrast at the center.

This tetraploid variety blooms in midseason on medium-height stems, making it a strong choice for perennial borders, iris collections, and moist garden areas. Its upright, grass-like foliage continues to provide texture after the flowers have finished.
