‘Major Wheeler’ is a vigorous native vine valued for its abundant bright red flowers and clean, attractive foliage. Long, tubular blooms begin appearing in late May and continue through summer, providing an excellent nectar source for hummingbirds and butterflies.

Unlike many honeysuckles, this selection shows strong resistance to powdery mildew. Its dark green, glossy foliage remains attractive even in warm, humid conditions. Train it along a trellis, fence, arbor, or other sturdy support where its twining stems and colorful flowers can be fully appreciated.
