A standout flowering tree for spring landscapes, Magnolia × ‘Frank’s Masterpiece’ produces an abundance of large, tulip-shaped blooms that make a striking display. In early spring—and often sporadically into summer—fragrant flowers up to 10 inches across open from deep purple-red upright buds at the tips of nearly every stem.

Each bloom offers beautiful two-toned color, with petals that are rich reddish purple on the outside and white brushed with a soft pink blush on the inside. The dramatic flowers are beautifully complemented by large, elongated rich green leaves that remain attractive through the growing season before turning yellow in fall.

Its upright, broad pyramidal habit makes it an excellent specimen tree for lawns, foundation plantings, or focal points in the landscape. Developed by Dr. Frank Galyon, this exceptional hybrid fittingly carries his name.
