Magnolia x 'Frank's Masterpiece' In early spring and sporadically into summer, abundant tulip-shaped fragrant flowers up to 10 inches in size open from erect deep purple-red buds at the ends of almost every stem on the tree. The two-toned flowers have petals that are reddish purple on the outside and white with a hint of soft pink on the inside. Lush foliage of large, elongated, rich green leaves are attractive through the season and turn yellow in fall. The habit is upright with a broad pyramidal form and the foliage is disease resistant. Dr. Frank Galyon hybridized it and it is appropriate that it bears his name. 25-30'x 20-25', Z5-9.
