A striking evergreen fern with deep green fronds that emerge stiffly before arching gracefully to create a tassel-like appearance. Native to Maine, it is deer-resistant and adds bold texture to shaded borders and woodland gardens. Thrives in moist, well-drained soil in full to part shade.
