Salix ‘Winter Glory’ – Snake Willow
‘Winter Glory’ is a distinctive willow known for its exceptionally large, fuzzy catkins that can reach the size of a rabbit’s foot. Appearing in late winter to early spring, the oversized catkins create an eye-catching display on bare branches and are especially prized for cutting and floral arrangements.
This vigorous shrub has an upright, spreading habit and grows best in full sun. Formerly associated with Salix chaenomeloides, ‘Winter Glory’ is considered a natural hybrid involving Salix gracilistyla and Salix caprea.
