Sambucus canadensis ‘York’ (Elderberry)
A vigorous, late-season elderberry known for producing some of the largest fruit of any variety. In early summer, creamy white flower clusters cover the plant, followed by exceptionally heavy crops of oversized purple-black berries that ripen 1–2 weeks after ‘Adams’. The fruit is rich in vitamin C and well-suited for jams, syrups, and wine.
With its larger stature and strong growth habit, ‘York’ is ideal for productive hedgerows, naturalized plantings, or dedicated edible gardens.
