Veronicastrum virginicum
(Culver’s Root)
Culver’s Root is a graceful North American native perennial with tall, upright stems and distinctive whorled foliage. Slender spikes of white flowers rise above the plant from July through August, adding soft texture and vertical interest to perennial borders, native gardens, and pollinator plantings.
It performs best in full sun to part shade with consistently moist, well-drained soil. Deer resistant and attractive to bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators, it is a dependable choice for naturalistic landscapes and the middle or back of garden beds.
